A less than a 10-15 minute drive will take you to one of the nicest beaches on the East Coast. St James residents have an oceanfront beach pavilion and reserved parking on Oak Island. The southern-facing beaches of Oak Island are rarely crowded and offer 11 miles of sandy, dog-friendly beaches.
